An authentic replica of the 1961 Gibson SG Standard with awesome Maestro Vibrola: this is cool!

A Gibson SG like you used to buy it! This SG Standard '61 Maestro Vibrola is completely period-correct with just the right Heritage Cherry finish, Burstbucker pickups for that authentic PAF sound and of course the awesome Maestro Vibrola tremolo. With this system you add a very subtle vibrato effect to your playing, and let's be honest: just for the looks of this tremolo system with the Lyre engraving on the tailpiece cover, you might consider this guitar. A nice additional advantage is that this Gibson SG Standard '61 also sounds great and plays wonderfully. The Gibson SG Standard has a funny history. Initially, this guitar was known as the Gibson Les Paul from 1961 onwards... Huh? Indeed, this model was intended as the successor to the heavy Gibson Les Paul. With only a thin mahogany body, this was the answer to the complaints about the weight of the Les Paul. But there was a little problem. Mr. Les Paul himself thought the guitar was hideous and not representative of his vision of the ultimate guitar. He then decided not to give his name to the model anymore. So a new name had to be created, and so it happened! The Gibson SG became one of the most legendary guitars in the history of rock music. Think of big names like Angus Young, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Duane Allman and more recently, Derek Trucks. A Gibson SG has a very distinct sound. It bites, penetrates the music well, and in the right hands the guitar can even sound very subtle. The Gibson SG is iconic in every respect and it is therefore great that this guitar is now also available with the Maestro Vibrola system. The guitar is finished in a classic Heritage Cherry finish, and features a Slim Taper neck that feels very nice. In terms of pickups, the Burstbuckers were chosen, which convincingly reproduce the PAF sound. The guitar comes with a beautiful hard shell case.
