The Timeless J-45 now in a stunning Epiphone version!
The Epiphone 1942 Banner J45 Reissue is a tribute to one of the most iconic acoustic guitars ever built: the original Gibson J45 from 1942. This model, which quickly earned the nickname "workhorse," was known for its understated design, versatility, and reliable sound. In collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone brings this classic back to life, with an eye for detail and authentic character.
The guitar features a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top, combined with solid mahogany back and sides. This ensures the warm, balanced sound for which the J45 is so beloved. The mahogany neck has a comfortable V-profile and is also thermally treated. The fretboard is made of Indian rosewood and finished with pearloid dot inlays.
Characteristic details include the open-gear tuners with cream-colored buttons, the distinctive teardrop pickguard, and the rectangular bridge with a compensated bone saddle. The headstock features the classic "open book" profile and is adorned with the Epiphone banner logo and the Gibson Crown in a gold silkscreen print.
Thanks to the built-in L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC pickup, this J45 is perfectly suitable for both studio and stage use. The guitar comes in a sturdy Red Line case with an Inspired by Gibson Custom logo. A timeless classic, built for today's guitarist.
