The Gibson Les Paul '70s Deluxe Gold Top that proves the mini humbucker has its own story to tell

In 1969, Gibson introduced the Les Paul Deluxe as a response to demand for cheaper production, but the result was a guitar with a unique identity all its own. The mini humbuckers Gibson installed are not a compromise; they are a choice with character. The Gibson Les Paul '70s Deluxe Gold Top is an accurate reissue of that guitar, complete with the specs and feel of the originals you could find on any stage in the 70s.

The two mini humbuckers combine the clarity of a single-coil with the hum-canceling of a humbucker. They sound more open and transparent than traditional PAF pickups, with more definition in the highs and a lighter, faster attack. Combined with Orange Drop capacitors in the tone circuit, this gives a crystal clarity that made the standard Deluxe so beloved by guitarists who wanted something different from the Les Paul Standard.

The mahogany body without weight relief, maple top in Gold Top finish, and mahogany neck with a Rounded C profile give the Deluxe its substantial, organic feel. The rosewood fretboard with Acrylic Trapezoid inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale offers familiar Gibson playability. Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone knobs and the Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge complete the period-correct picture. Includes hardshell case.

The Les Paul '70s Deluxe Gold Top is for those who know the Les Paul sound and consciously choose the variant that is just a little different from the rest.
