The black sheep that sounds like it looks: raw, idiosyncratic, and completely solid
Lakewood has been building handmade guitars in Germany since 1986, and the Black Sheep is arguably their most distinctive model. Fully black lacquered, equipped with an AA European Spruce top and an L.R. Baggs Element Stagepro pickup — this is a guitar that belongs just as much on a stage as in a living room. Not a meek instrument, but one with character.
The AA European Spruce top on a Scalloped X-Brace provides a direct, articulate tone with remarkably wide dynamics. The Mahogany back and sides add warmth and a focused midrange that cuts through a mix well. The L.R. Baggs Element Stagepro pickup accurately captures that acoustic character, ensuring you sound amplified just as you sound unplugged.
The Cedro neck with a C-shape profile and Ebony fretboard plays smoothly across 20 frets and a 25.6-inch scale length. The Lakewood ProTune I chrome tuners ensure stable tuning, and the Ebony bridge provides clear note attack. The set-neck construction contributes to excellent sustain and a seamless transition to the body. Comes with a gigbag.
The Lakewood Black Sheep is for the guitarist who doesn't want to stand out — but does anyway.
