The Epiphone USA Coronet Ebony brings back the one and only Coronet: made in the USA, with a Gibson P-90 and the no-nonsense philosophy of the 1958 original
The Coronet was introduced in 1958 as Epiphone's most straightforward instrument: a double-cut mahogany body, a single pickup, and no unnecessary frills. In the decades that followed, the model grew into a cult classic, beloved for precisely the reasons it was designed. The USA Coronet brings the model back into American production, with period-correct hardware and one crucial upgrade: a genuine Gibson P-90.
The Gibson P-90 in the bridge position is the heart of the Coronet. Raw, direct, and with a presence that no humbucker can exactly reproduce: the P-90 is the pickup that defined rhythm-and-blues and early rock. Combined with the mahogany body and the wraparound bridge, the Coronet delivers a tone that stands out even without an amplifier. The badge-less pickguard, carousel knobs, and Grover tuners with cream buttons are all period-correct and consistent with the 1958 original.
Double-cut mahogany body in Ebony, mahogany neck with Vintage '50s profile, rosewood fretboard with Dot inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale, Grover tuners with cream buttons, Wraparound bridge and nickel hardware. Includes hardshell case.
The USA Coronet Ebony is for the guitarist who knows that the best instruments are always the most honest.
