Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, two of which are at Dijkmans Guitars!
Austin-born guitarist, singer, and songwriter Gary Clark Jr. has carved out a unique space in modern music by blending blues, rock, soul, and hip-hop into an unmistakably unique sound. A four-time GRAMMY® Award winner and acclaimed for his electrifying live performances, Clark is widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of his time. His previous Gibson and Epiphone signature models—the SG™ and Casino™—each reflected elements of his style. Now, in close collaboration with Gary Clark Jr., Gibson Custom proudly presents the Gary Clark Jr. Custom ES-355. Inspired by the first time he saw B.B. King perform with a guitar, this ES-355 has become Clark's guitar of choice.
The Gary Clark Jr. Custom ES-355 features a three-ply maple/poplar/maple body with a flame maple top ply, a mahogany neck with a 1950s rounded medium C profile, and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 historic medium-jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl block inlays. The body and headstock feature multi-ply binding, as well as the Custom split-diamond inlay and Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with kidney-shaped buttons. Under the body, two unpotted Custombuckers with Alnico-3 magnets provide rich tone. These are connected to CTS® audio taper potentiometers with paper-in-oil capacitors, along with a Switchcraft® three-way switch and a 1/4-inch jack output. True Historic gold-tone top hat knobs with pointer buttons complete the controls, while a mono Varitone circuit with a black chicken head knob provides additional tonal flexibility. The hardware is nickel with a VOS finish, including the ABR-1 historic wireless bridge and Bigsby® B7 vibrato. The guitar also features a beautiful VOS Cobra Burst finish. Each instrument comes in a hard-shell Gibson Custom case with Gary Clark Jr. logos, a brown exterior and a black plush interior.
This special edition is limited to just 100 guitars, handcrafted by the artisans at Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Lab in Nashville, Tennessee. Demand is sure to be high, so now's the time to own this exceptional instrument: Gary Clark Jr.'s new number one.
