The Taylor 117e Special Edition is the trusted Grand Pacific in a visually and sonically impressive version. The torrefied spruce top gives this guitar a maturity and warmth usually only found in much older instruments, while the exclusive Dark Tobacco Teardrop Burst finish gives it a depth and character that the standard 117e does not offer. For the enthusiast who wants both quality and appearance, this is a compelling combination.
The asymmetrical V-Brace bracing system provides an open, projected sound with warm bass and clear attack. The Grand Pacific body shape is excellent for fingerpicking and singer-songwriter style playing, but also performs superbly in chord playing. The built-in Expression System 2 electronics with volume, bass, and treble controls make it immediately suitable for stage or studio use.
The neck is constructed using Taylor's trusted bolt-on method and features an Ebony fretboard with 20 frets on a 25.5'' scale. The back and sides are made of Sapele, a wood known for its projection and pleasantly warm mid-tones. The guitar comes with a gig bag.
This instrument is new and in impeccable condition. Before shipping or pickup, the guitar is inspected and, if necessary, played in by our technician.
