Mexican Strat with a Japanese Heart — Fender Player Stratocaster 2015 in Opal White

This 2015 Fender Player Stratocaster is not your average used guitar. What makes it special is hidden beneath the pickguard: the original pickups have been replaced with single-coils from a 1988 Japanese Fender Stratocaster. These MIJ pickups are known for their warm, detailed tone and are considered an upgrade by many players compared to the standard Mexican set. Combined with the solid Player body and familiar Strat playability, this is an instrument that is well worth its price.

The sound is open, dynamic, and direct — exactly what you would expect from vintage Japanese single-coils. The tone has more body and warmth than the average modern Strat in this price segment, with a bright attack and a rich midrange that responds well to your playing dynamics. Whether you play clean or with a light overdrive — this guitar sings.

The guitar is built on an alder Strat body in the beautiful Opal White finish, with a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The hardware is in good condition, and the guitar is ready to play. As a used instrument, it shows the usual signs of wear, but everything is functionally sound. An excellent choice for the player who wants more guitar for their money.

A Strat with a story — and a tone that lives up to that story.
