The Sandberg California II VT Masterpiece Aged Goldburst is no ordinary bass guitar: each instrument is hand-aged by Sandberg's renowned "aging guru," giving it a unique, lived-in appearance you won't find anywhere else. The California VT is known for its versatile and characterful sound. The PJ configuration with Blacklabel pickups combines the best of both worlds: the warm, full punch of a Precision-style split-coil in the neck position and the clear, biting definition of a Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge. The active electronics with push-pull volume give you the choice between a powerful active sound and a pure, passive tone, depending on what the music demands.

The body is made of alder and the neck of roasted Canadian hard rock maple, a combination that provides an open, resonant tone with excellent stability. The maple fretboard with 22 frets and a comfortable 14" radius plays smoothly and quickly. At just 3.63 kg, this is also an exceptionally light bass for long playing sessions. Sandberg hardware and bridge, Sandberg tuners, and a gigbag complete the package.
