The Roland RE-201 Space Echo Delay and the Boss CE-1 Chorus are two of the most legendary effects of all time. You hear them on countless albums and productions; from Midnight Oil to John Frusciante and from Pink Floyd to Brian Setzer. In addition to their beautiful delay and chorus sounds, the RE-201 and CE-1 have been known for their built-in preamp circuitry for decades. The Boss BP-1W combines both circuits into one compact pedal, along with a third, extra clean mode for a straight-up volume boost. The RE mode has a somewhat fuller character with a nice low mid boost and rounded trebles. CE mode is grittier and retains more bass. Don't hesitate to turn the gain control all the way up; The CE mode in particular rubs against a fat fuzz at high settings. The Boss BP-1W is completely analog and contains all the beauty of the original preamps!
