A stunning recreation of the 1963 SG Custom by Epiphone!
The Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG with Maestro Vibrola was created in collaboration with Gibson Custom™. It is a beautiful reproduction of the classic vintage model. 1963 was the last year that the “Les Paul™” name was used on the SG™ Custom and the first year for the Maestro™ Vibrola™. The premium appointments for which the model is known and loved are all present here, including a one-piece mahogany neck with a long wooden neck joint, a SlimTaper™ profile, and a bound ebony fingerboard. It also has mother-of-pearl block fingerboard inlays and a Custom split diamond headstock inlay on the bound Gibson-style “open book” headstock. The electronics are equally impressive, with three American-made Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups hand-wired to CTS® potentiometers, Mallory™ capacitors, and a Switchcraft® pickup switching and jack output. The VOS (Vintage Original Sheen) classic white finish is nicely complemented by the gold-tone hardware, including Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with an 18:1 ratio. A black hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics and a goldenrod interior is also included.
