Alex Lifeson's Unforgettable Guitar Tone
Alex Lifeson shaped the guitar world with a sound that is as expansive as it is precise. The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 Reissue is a tribute to the guitar he used to achieve that: his iconic 1976 Gibson ES-355, now re-created in an instrument that visually and acoustically captures the essence of that original. The Gloss Alpine White finish, gold-plated hardware, Maestro Vibrola, and multi-ply binding leave no doubt about the ambition of this guitar.
The semi-hollow construction of maple and poplar with a solid maple center block gives this ES-355 its characteristic versatility: warm and resonant enough for jazz and clean playing, tight and controlled enough for rock without feedback issues. The two Gibson USA T-Type humbuckers sound full and dynamic, and the built-in mono Varitone switch opens up an extra layer of tonal options that you can activate or deactivate with a mini toggle switch. The CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors ensure responsive, organic tone control.
The three-piece maple neck has a Slim C profile and an ebony fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and large mother-of-pearl block inlays, just like the original. The volute behind the headstock provides extra stability at the neck-to-headstock joint, the Graph Tech nut keeps the tuning stable, and the Maestro Vibrola adds an expressiveness rarely found in guitars in this price range. Gold-plated harmonica-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, Grover mechanics with keystone buttons, Alex Lifeson signature neckplate. Includes custom hardshell case with red plush interior.
For the guitarist who knows what they want and isn't afraid to stand out.
