This bass guitar, also called the J-Bass, was launched in 1960 as the new "deluxe" bass model from Fender. The Jazz Bass was characterized by its slim offset body, a particularly narrow and comfortable neck and so-called dual concentric "stacked" control potentiometers with which a large range of usable and particularly beautiful bass sounds could be produced. The Jazz Bass was an immediate success, and this beautiful instrument has become an indispensable part of the modern music world.
