The moment you get your hands on a 50 Series Lowden, you know you've come across something very special. The essence of this 50 range is that only the most exclusive, tone-rich and visually stimulating woods are used: the best that Lowden has to offer. This is also the case with this S-50 CMA/LZ, where CMA stands for Cuban Mahogany - mahogany from Cuba - and Lutz Spruce (spruce). Visually, this is already a feast to look at, because the virgin white of the Lutz Spruce top contrasts beautifully with the dark shade of the Cuban mahogany. And then the sound... For such a handy size, this S-50 has a huge frequency range with awesome dynamics. Both subtle fingerstyle and grander sounding percussion parts effortlessly stand up and this is now typically one of those guitars that you simply don't want to put down. Further beautiful details include the Abalone rosette around the sound hole, the purfling which is made up of a combination of mahogany, maple and rosewood and of course the luxurious looking Gotoh Gold 510 machine heads with ebony buttons.
