The three-piece rosewood back that gives the D-35 its unmistakable voice
The Martin D-35 Re-Imagined is a reinterpretation of one of the most beloved dreadnoughts in Martin's history. While the original D-35 has been the choice of artists like Johnny Cash and Seth Avett for decades, this Re-Imagined version adds forward-shifted bracing that further opens up the tone and refines the response. The result is an instrument that respects the legacy of the D-35 while taking it further.
The distinctive three-piece back of solid East Indian rosewood is not only visually distinctive, but also has a direct influence on the sound. The combination of rosewood and a solid Sitka spruce top with aging toner delivers a tone that is big, layered, and dynamic. The low frequencies are full without becoming vague, the midrange is warm and present, and the high frequencies have a clear sparkle that makes fingerpicking sound particularly beautiful. The forward-shifted X-bracing provides a faster response and more volume with a light touch.
The neck is made of selected hardwood with a modified low-oval profile and a dovetail joint, and features an ebony fingerboard with dot inlays. Scale length 25.4", 20 frets, satin finish on the neck. Delivered with a molded hardcase.
A D-35 is a guitar you buy for life. The Re-Imagined version gives you every reason to do so.
