The PRS SE DGT Gold Top is the affordable version of David Grissom's personal holy grail. Grissom, known for his work with John Mayer and his own band, designed the DGT as a guitar that has everything he needs and nothing he doesn't want. The result is an instrument that stands out for its directness, dynamics, and character — and in this SE version, that philosophy has remained surprisingly intact.
The sound of the SE DGT is open, transparent, and dynamically responsive. The two DGT "S" pickups deliver a clear, glassy tone with enough body to sound convincing even in crunch territory. The push/pull coil tap on the tone knob also gives you access to a single-coil character that works particularly well for clean and slightly overdriven playing. The mahogany body with flame maple veneer in a Gold Top finish contributes to a warm, full undertone that beautifully balances the bright pickups.
The DGT mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, 22 frets, and PRS Moon inlays plays smoothly and quickly. The 25" scale length and 10" radius provide a familiar feel that appeals to both rhythm players and soloists. The PRS Patented Tremolo and PRS Designed tuners complete the package. Control via two separate volume knobs and one tone knob with push/pull coil tap — exactly as Grissom wants it. Includes gig bag.
