The Sandberg Forty Eight Victor Brandt gives heavy basslines a voice of their own
The Sandberg Forty Eight Victor Brandt Signature Black Matt combines a striking appearance with a pickup combination that offers more than just raw power. This signature bass from the Dimmu Borgir bassist features a matte black finish, black hardware, and an ebony fretboard. The result is an instrument with a distinct identity, designed for bassists who want to carve out their own space alongside heavy guitars. A European ash body and maple neck form the foundation of this model.
The neck is equipped with a Sandberg Black Label split-coil pickup, while a Black Label T-pickup at the bridge provides additional definition. The split-coil delivers a full foundation with a distinctive P-style character, while the bridge pickup adds focus and articulation to your basslines. The blend control allows you to mix the two to taste. This means you can lay down a restrained accompaniment or opt for a more pronounced attack when riffs and fast passages call for it. This makes the Forty Eight well-suited for metal without limiting it to a single genre.
The Canadian Hard Rock Maple neck is secured with six bolts. The scale length is 34 inches, or 864 millimeters, and the ebony fretboard features 22 frets with a 14-inch radius. The active/passive electronics allow you to switch between the two modes via the push-pull volume control. Black tuners match the rest of the hardware, maintaining a consistent look. A Sandberg gig bag is included, so you can take the bass to rehearsals and gigs.
Are you looking for a signature bass with a dark look and plenty of room to shape your own sound? Discover how the Forty Eight Victor Brandt gives your basslines weight and character.
