It is therefore not surprising that he has joined forces with John Suhr and his team for his weapons of choice. Because if there is anyone who knows every nook and cranny of the guitar and knows how solid an instrument should be, it is John! This Signature guitar is based on the Classic S model. This means that you are dealing with an S-Style guitar that combines the best of the previous century with modern upgrades, such as a comfortable compound radius, HSS pickup configuration and Locking Tuners. Mateus' input can be found first in the specially designed pickups, which are perfectly balanced and have exactly the right output and EQ characteristics. The HSS configuration makes the whole thing incredibly versatile. The 63+ Singlecoils sound open, full and fresh; perfect for all styles from blues, funk to soul. The Asatobucker in the bridge position is perfectly balanced with the ML's and delivers a very nice lead sound with loads of sustain and attitude. Crazy expressive! Mateus was also extensively involved in the design of the neck, and here they went for a very beautiful Roasted Birdseye Maple design with Indian Roswood fingerboard and a nice smooth profile. This neck is perfect for legato and slides; thanks to the roasted maple you feel just enough resistance. The whole is finished in a super chic Black Gloss Finish with gold hardware.
